Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was shot at City of Arts and Sciences, a cultural and architectural complex in the city of Valencia Spain

Time

I shot this during blue hour. This complex is a photographer's delight and is a great place to explore different compositions. It is always a great idea to reach couple of hours before sunset , to walk around and decide the specific angles and frames you would like to shoot so that you are better prepared.

Lighting

Right after blue hour was a great time for this shot , when the lights in the centre were illuminated, I was able to get the beautiful reflections.

Equipment

Nikon D750, Nikkor 14-24 and Manfrotto tripod

Inspiration

Shooting architecture /cityscapes is my favourite genre , so this location had been on my wish list since a long time. I love the unique style of architecture , which allowed me to capture many abstract and surreal frames.

Editing

I have done basic processing for this image, slight adjustment in highlights/shadows and WB .

In my camera bag

I always carry Nikkor 14-24 with my Nikon D750 . Sometimes i add Sigma 24070 along.

Feedback

As with all locations, it is a great idea to reach the location 2 hours before and walk around the complex , to decide what exact spots you would like to shoot. Best to shoot at sunset and right after during blue hour with the illuminated complex.
