This image scared me. Maggie is an advocate who visited me from another state, specifically because she liked my work, and wanted me to shoot with her.
During the shoot, we were talking about making an emotional image. Maggie said to give her a minute, which I did.
She took up this pose.
After a minute, she began to weep. Then, she began to cry. I began shooting pictures. The crying intensified, until she was almost howling.
I had to ask her to stop. It really frightened me. I asked if she was okay.
She replied that she was, but that, to get the emotion, she had tapped into "a really bad memory."
