"What a spectacular image! This defines the word “dramatic” in so many ways. The dark moodiness of this image that cradles the runoff from the waterfalls high above was captured so well. Wonderful composition with the river leading the viewer’s eye up into the image. The light areas also pull us along the bottom and then the clouds on the left balance the dark cliffs on the right. The waterfall was captured with just the right amount of long exposure in order to create that smooth effect with the water without blowing out the highlights. The fact that the photographer decided to make this a vertical format was brilliant since it creates a wonderful composition from foreground rocks to the waterfall to a backdrop of lush green trees. "This image really caught my attention with the mountain in the background reaching up towards the sky, so high above everything else. The repeating patterns of the grass creates such a beautiful foreground as the line of clouds wraps it’s way along the base of the mountain. The colors compliment each other and even the vignette in the sky along the edges draws us back into the image creating a well composed, nicely processed result!" - Laurie Rubin
