This is the eye of a reef octopus, taken at night while diving a wreck called the Barge in the Egyptian Red Sea. Octopus are a regular sight at the Barge and on this trip I was lucky to see a pair mating. They are one of the most intelligent and entertaining creatures in the marine world. This picture was taken using an Olympus EPL-3 camera in an Olympus underwater housing with a Panasonic 45mm macro lens and a Sea & Sea YS-D1 strobe. the camera was set at 1/160 at f / 13 ISO250
