Taken at Lake Springfield, MO, while driving to work. Taken with a Canon Powershot A20 camera, and modified with the GIMP with the elsamuko lomography plugin. There has been a tornado since this picture was taken, which destroyed all of the canopies above the docks. They have never been replaced.

I took this photo near Lake Springfield in Springfield, MO. The dam, which you can see in the background, retains water that is used by the power plant that is in the same area.Time
I was driving to work early on the chilly morning of February 13th, taking what I call the "back road" to work. As I was passing the power plant to the left of me, I could see fog drifting over the lake. I pulled over on the side road and took the picture.Lighting
It was mostly cloudy on that day, so the lighting was still subdued. I set the camera to auto to take the picture, without a flash.Equipment
This photo was taken with my Canon Powershot A20, freehand, without a tripod.Inspiration
I liked the way the fog was drifting across the water, and how it partially shrouded the docks. There was no one on the docks fishing.Editing
I used the GIMP photo processor, with the G'Mic plugin to adjust the photo somewhat. I then used the Lomo plugin, developed by elsamuko, to give it a slight faded effect. In my camera bag
I normally carry a simple camera, which, at the time was the Canon Powershot A20. I currently have a Canon A1000, as well as my Moto Z Play phone.Feedback
Always look at your surroundings. Sometimes the lighting will be just right for the moment, and never be quite the same again. For instance, this photo can never be duplicated, partially because a tornado went through the area and blew the canopies off of the docks. They have never been replaced.
