He harasses the mess out of her but she holds her own. He usually has one of those serious smiles but here is a genuine one...he must enjoy it :)

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at home when the two of them had no idea I was going to snap a picture of them.

Time

The picture was taken late afternoon to early evening.

Lighting

I used just your basic auto-flash setting on my camera.

Equipment

FujiFilm FinePix s700 with no additional equipment.

Inspiration

The two of them were laughing so hard; he was being so gentle and patient with her even though he was 13 years older and so much bigger. Cousins having fun! I cherish these impromptu photos because she is now 9 and he would have been 22 last month. We lost him in April. NEVER hesitate to grab that camera and capture these moments because you never know when they will be all you have left of someone.

Editing

Yes. Using Picasa3 I removed the red eyes and darkened the shadows slightly to adjust for too much flash.

In my camera bag

EXTRA memory cards!! Extra batteries, a flash deflector, and polarizer and UV filters for my Nikon D60. The Fuji has since been retired due to faulty flash.

Feedback

Take a bunch of pictures together because you just never know which one will have that perfect expression. Please be careful that the camera type is appropriate to the environment. I always prefer one with a great flash, zoom, and fast shutter speed for less blur in action shots.
