Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at our backyard. I like taking pictures but have not training at photography, so every shot is a learning experience to me.

Time

The picture was taken early in the morning after the rain, I am curious to see if I can capture the rain drops on the flower; took me several shots to get it right. I love flowers always try to find ways to capture the image at it's best.

Lighting

I wanted to show the as clearly as possible the rain drops on the flower, I took the shot before the sun came up to prevent sun shine on the flower.

Equipment

I don't have expensive camera or related equipment, all I use is a Kodak camera bought on line for $199.00. The camera serve me well and hope eventually, I will save up enough money to buy a better camera.

Inspiration

I grew up in a concrete jungle in Asia, never exposed to nature until I came to the US. I started taking pictures of places I went, it's a graphic documents of my life in US. Two years ago I have breast cancer, stayed home two months after the surgery; during that time there is nothing much I can do except walking in my backyard. I begin paying attention to things growing in the yard and taking pictures of them; the process help to ease my mind.

Editing

Since I don't have any training in photography, the only post-processing I did was cropping.

In my camera bag

I have in my bag is the Kodak Z990, telephoto lens and tripod, very simple equipment that satisfied my needs.
