Location
This picture was taken in San Francisco, CaliforniaTime
It was about 9 PM and dark enough for the fireworks to show up against the sky.Lighting
I did not have a tripod as I had been walking around and it was starting to get very crowed. I walked away from the viewing area and used the wall of a building to steady my camera.Equipment
I was shooting a Nikon D-200 with an Nikkor 17 to 35 mm lense. I only had an extra battery and no other equipment.Inspiration
The fireworks seemed to be at a peek and I just could not pass up the shot. I took a total of 3 shots to get this one.Editing
The only post-processing was cropping. There was a light that was to my right that was a distraction. In my camera bag
I normally carry two camera bodies, polarizer, ND filter, small flash, tripod ,trigger remote and cleaning supplies.Feedback
Bring a tripod. Depending on walls and other things to hold your camera can be a challenge. Patience is also great and a dash of lady luck... Being this was not the object of my trip the bottom line is don't forget to have fun.
