Valentine's Day Day 45 of the 365 Photo Challenge
I held this duckling with my left hand and took shots with my right hand using my nephew's Nikon D3100. I enhanced the color because the flash made the color very pale.

Location
The photo was taken in our backyard. My nephew owns a few pair of Muscovy ducks. I took this duckling from a brood of 15. Held it with my left hand and took photos.Time
I took this photo at around 2:30 PM if I remember correctly.Lighting
Nothing special really. Sky was a little overcast.Equipment
I used my nephew's Nikon D3100 and the kit lens that comes with it.Inspiration
I find little young animals too cute. Too cute to resist. Ducklings most especially.Editing
I used Photoscape to enhance the color. I don't do too much post processing. I brightened and sharpened it a bit.In my camera bag
I use two cameras, an Olympus PEN E-PL3 and a Canon EOS 700D (Rebel T5i in the US). I usually bring them both when I shoot. For my Olympus, I use two lenses, a Lumix 14mm f/2.5 (for landscape) and a Lumix 45-200mm f/4-5.6 (for close-up). Nowadays, a Helios 44-2 58mm f/2.0 is constantly mounted on my Canon. You can also find UV, CPL and ND8 filters in my bag. Of course, I don't go out without a tripod and a remote shutter release.Feedback
When you hold young birds, they will usually wiggle. Wait till they settle down. If you have a macro lens, that's a better lens to use. Use the biggest aperture possible. Better if it's backlighted to get a nice bokeh. They may sound foolish but do talk to the young bird. Make sure the eye/s is/are prominent.
