The photo was taken outside of Ennis Texas on the Bluebonnet trails! The horses were all gathered by the fence and when I walked up they all walked away! This one stop and turned and looked at me as to say. Okay, go ahead and take your picture!Time
Normally I don't go out to shoot at mid day however it was overcast which makes shooting flowers perfect. I was out capturing bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes on the Bluebonnet Trails out side Ennis TX.Lighting
The day was overcast so it was perfect for not having those harsh shadows!Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 5D MIII with a 100mm macro 2.8. No flash was used just natural light!Inspiration
The size of this horse was so impressive and the light was just right. Not to mention that he posed for me!Editing
Converted to black and white, added some sharpening and cropping! In my camera bag
I have with me a Canon 5D MIII, a canon 50mm 1.8 and a 100mm macro 2.8 L, Canon EOS R, Canon 24-70mm 2.8Feedback
When taking pictures of animals the one thing is you have to be very patient. You have to be ready for anything. When outside it is always best to take your images around the golden hour, however if you have an overcast day then you have a perfect large softbox to use!
