Location
This picture was taken in Nynäshamn, Sweden. This exact location is called Knappelskär, it´s a very small peninsula and a beautiful place for swimming or to just have a walk. I have visited this place many many times, but i have never seen such green and beautiful seaweed on the rocks, so i tried to use it as a foreground together with two stones that i found.Time
I love colors, so taking photos during sunsets or sunrises is a must for me. To get an epic sunset, clouds are needed, but sometimes i feel like an too good sunset can take too much attention from the actual subject, so in this case am happy really happy with the sunset, even though it was far away from "perfect".Lighting
The green seaweed really popped thanks to the soft and beautiful light.Equipment
For this shot i used my Nikon D800 camera, Nikkor 16-35 f/4 lens, various ND filters and the most important equipment, my tripod.Inspiration
This was shot a couple of years ago, back then i didn´t know any well known photographers, so i wasn´t inspired by any specific photographer, i was just inspired by all the amazing photos i could find on 500px and here on Viewbug.Editing
Something i always do in my photos, is to increase the shadows and decrease the highlights to get more details in the picture. I also used a pencil in Lightroom to paint in less clarity in the water, to make it look smoother. Other than that, there is not so much post-processing, except for some basic changes such as white balance, contrast etc.In my camera bag
The most important equipment besides my cameras and lenses is my tripod, i use it about 90% of all the times, i would never be able to take this photo without it. Something that also is very important to have in my camera bag are my microfibre cloths, since i´m mostly shooting seascapes, i need to use it if water from a big wave splashed up on my lenses, but also if the rain comes.Feedback
Use Neutral Density filters to smooth the water. Be patient, more than 50% of all the time i am out shooting is a failure, sometimes i go to the same location 10 times till i get the photo i want.
