Such a wonderful image. Had a opportunity another life ago to drive from Fairbanks back to the lower 48 into North Dakota. The Inside Passage and the Canadian Rockies were Heaven on Earth. Got to go back...

Location
The photo was taken in Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada.Time
This is probably my favourite moment ever. After hiking more than 35km in two days, we finally reached the campground at Mount Assiniboine. For sunset, we decided to make one last effort, to get this amazing view over Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park. As the sun was slowly going down, we got to enjoy this amazing scenery.Lighting
The only light used in this photo is natural light. During sunset the sun was shining through some clouds, what made for some beautiful colors in the clouds and on the mountains.Equipment
I used my Nikon D600 with my 24-120mm. I also used a tripod to capture this image.Inspiration
I've been wanting to go to this place for several years. My family and I finally decided to hike to this place and I knew in advance that I wanted to capture this specific image. I've been picturing it in my head for a long time.Editing
Landscape processing requires some processing. I adjusted the contrast, boosted up the saturation a bit and made sure the clouds came out nicely. In my camera bag
I usually have my Nikon D600 with me, together with my 24-120mm and a 50mm. I also carry my tripod with me at most times, to be able to capture sunrises or sunsets, or even the night sky.Feedback
Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park is always beautiful, any time of year. You just have to decide for yourself what kind of image you would like to shoot. Because the weather can change abruptly, you need to be prepared for everything. If you want to get the best light, you have to be patient. Wait for the right time and you'll get the perfect shot.
