Location
This was taken at an abandoned house in Sedalia, CO, which is not too far outside of Denver.Time
We started the shoot around 3pm and wandered through the various abandoned homes in the area for a few hours doing different shots in different places.Lighting
This was done through all natural lighting. The sun was shining down on this side of the house, which provided great lighting!Equipment
The only equipment for this shot was my camera using my Sigma 18-200mm lens - no flash or tripod.Inspiration
I've always loved taking photos of abandoned spaces and finding the beauty in decay. My sister is an amazing fashion designer (Parasite Eve Designs) and she wanted me to incorporate some of her gowns into my usual surroundings. It was my first attempt at doing fashion photography, but I really enjoyed it! I love the juxtaposition of the pretty gown with the decay in the background.Editing
Yes - I overlayed a texture onto the image, dropped the saturation back a bit and added a vignette to give it a more nostalgic feel.In my camera bag
My Tripod, a Rikonin Fisheye lens, several flashlights, Yongnuo Speedlight flash and several colored gels (for when the opportunity for light painting arrises).Feedback
Don't be afraid to try new things! I was a little nervous doing the fashion photography since it is such a new world for me, but found that I enjoyed it quite a bit and though I had to think about composition a lot differently, I found it wasn't nearly as difficult as I was expecting it to be. I'm glad I didn't listen to the fear and tried it out anyway!
