Thanks! The moon was out that night, but it was behind me. It helped illuminate the foreground....

Location
This photo was taken out by Stanley New Mexico, a quick 45 minute drive east of Albuquerque. It is usually my go to place when scoping out the first Milky Way shots of the year.Time
This I believe was taken at around 3:30am, off a rural road with only that farmhouse. Dogs were going crazy down the road, can’t believe the Sheriff wasn’t called.Lighting
Single frame, no lights except what’s in the photo.Equipment
Canon 6D, and the was a pano stitched together taken with a EF 35mm f/2 lens. And a cheap tripod that was later stolen out of my car.Inspiration
Science, and other astrophotographers I follow.Editing
Photoshop, just minor stuff, the color warmth, sharpening and som dodging and burning. I think I used CS5 because I didn’t have the Photoshop subscription yet?In my camera bag
A Canon 6d and Canon 6d MkII. A Rokinon 24mm f/1.4 Canon EF 35mm f/2 Canon 50mm f/1.8 STM Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 Canon 24-105mm L Sigma 15mm f/2.8 fisheye Sigma 150-500mm Two tripods, usually a pistol for potential wildlife out in rural parts of the state. And tons of Vigils Jerky, and water.Feedback
Don’t get frustrated, keep on till you perfect it. It’s all a matter of how much time you really put into it that will show in your results as you progress.
