Location
The photo was taken at Concord Point right where the Susquehanna River meets the Chesapeake Bay in Havre de Grace MD 21078.Time
Early morning right after dawnLighting
Fortunately the clouds were blocking the most intense sun rays which allowed me to take the picture without a lot of over bright glows.Equipment
I believe I used my Panasonic GH3 with no flash.Inspiration
The clouds obstructing the sun painted the river and the sky and seeing no boats in the pier made me want to take this picture.Editing
Did not do any post processing as I could not see a way to make it better. In my camera bag
Normally I have either a Pentax or Panasonic camera with me at all times.Feedback
You have to get up early before the sun rises. It helps if there are some clouds to help block the intensity of the sun as it rises. The day after a storm usually produces some great clouds that paint the sky and entire background with color. The time for taking this type of picture only lasts a few minutes so you have to be prepared to take a number of shots before and after you get the best light!
