Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at Cayo Guillermo-Cuba. I'm a self taught amateur TravelBug photographer.

Time

I woke up at 6:30 and rushed to the beach to snap the sunrise with sundeck pier.

Lighting

Lights were just perfect with little bit of clouds covering the direct sunlight.

Equipment

NIKON D5100 with Nikkor 18/105 lens, Aperture: 13/1, ISO: 250 Shutter Speed: 1/640 Focal Length: 21/1

Inspiration

Taking a sunset photo is much easier compared to a sunrise when you have to leave the comfort of the bed :).

Editing

Correction of white balance and alignment were necessary. Enhancement was made in the photomatix pro 5.1.

In my camera bag

My best travel buddy NIKON D5100 with Nikkor 18/105 lens accompanied by Nikon speedlight SB-900 & Great Hoya Circular polarizing filter.

Feedback

Arrive early and prepared. If possible come the day before without the camera. Take a stroll along the beach and observe to find the best possible place and don't forget to enjoy the peaceful tranquility ;). Compared to a sunset a sunrise has a shorter time gap before strong direct sunlight hits but it's also almost never crowded giving you the unique opportunity and experience.
