This photo was taken as I was driving home one day and stopped to get my mail. I look at this setting everyday, but on this particular day it was a rare sight, and I just couldn't help myself!Time
I remember waiting to get to the mailboxes so I could stop and take this picture. About 15 minutes later it started raining so hard I could barely see!Lighting
I knew from the moment I saw this, it could be amazing. The clouds were so dramatic, and the lighting was perfect.Equipment
Normally I would use my Canon 50D to take pictures, but I happened to be coming back from school so I used my iPhone 6s, and I am truly glad it takes amazing photos!Inspiration
The mailboxes have been featured in a few of my other photos. Usually it's a sunset, or even just the plains behind them. This time the rain was actually a good thing in the process of getting the mail!Editing
I only adjusted the contrast, saturation, and sharpness. In my camera bag
In my camera bag (which happens to be larger than any other bag I own!) I normally have my Canon 50D, along with three lenses, I have my f/4 70-300mm, my f/1.4 35mm, and the basic f/4 35-50mm. I always carry a waterproof camera cover in case of a rainy day, along with lens cleaning supplies. I like to keep my camera bag basic for the most part!Feedback
Many people think taking a photo like this one is difficult, but it's really not. Basically I saw the shot, and I took it. I literally stopped in the middle of the highway just so I could take this picture! I had to do a little editing in the end for a more dramatic effect. I increased contrast, saturation, and sharpened the photo also. All in all, it's truly not that hard.
