This is a Trinchesia yamasui nudibranch, found on a night dive in Komodo, Indonesia This one was only a couple of cm long. In this photo it is sitting on a stinging hydroid. Nudibranchs are a group of soft-bodied, marine gastropod molluscs which shed their shells after their larval stage. They are noted for their often extraordinary colours and striking forms. Currently, about 2,300 valid species of nudibranchs are known.

WoW! The sea is so full of wonders, I saw a documentary on Komodo recently. Coral reefs are out of this world and so many fish. Lucky you. :))
