Ever since I started going on these short local shooting trips and my oldest daughter got old enough to understand what was going on, she had been asking to go with me. I always thought it was a bit late for her to be outside at sunset. During our last summer holiday with no rush in the morning, however, I decided to take her with me.
I don’t know if she had ever thought too much about the sunset, or if she was just that excited about me finally letting her go, but I could see the moment moving something inside her. I wish we could all see the nature that way.

This picture was taken in Porkkalanniemi, Southern Finland. I had the privilege of getting my first born daughter in the frame, watching the sun set.Time
This was taken at around 10:30pm, the time of sunset in Finnish midsummer.Lighting
My daughter usually is reluctant to get in an image, but this time, as I was taking the picture, she asked if she could step in. No other light source than the setting sun was needed. :)Equipment
Canon EOS 6D, Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II, FotoPro C5i tripodInspiration
The original idea was to shoot Finnish country side. I was intrigued by the idea of long shadows cutting through the fields, but never thought of having her in the shot. Of course the heart and soul of the final image is my daughters desire to get in the frame, what more could a father ask for. :)Editing
Post processing in Photoshop, nothing fancy, just regular curves and color balance adjustments. In my camera bag
Currently I carry the following gear with me: Canon EOS 6D, Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L III, Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0 L IS USM and a stack of filters and triggers. I'm still craving for at least a decent telezoom.Feedback
As I am a true amateur, I feel short of giving anyone advice on photography, although all my best shots have come through not pushing it: just follow your instinct, and the rest will follow. :)
