I went up to Mt. Rainier a few weeks back just after the flowers had peaked in hopes of finding a few spots that hadn't been completely fried by the heat wave that we have been dealing with as of late. I had high hopes when I found this area high up on the Skyline trail because high clouds were literally everywhere about an hour before sunset. Unfortunately that didn't last long and I was stuck with nearly blue bird conditions for the sunset. One really neat thing about Paradise is the angle at which the sun sets behind the mountain. It's almost as if someone shines a huge flashlight behind the mountain and provides back lighting for one entire side; gotta love mother nature!
