I shot photos of this amazing Volkswagen Beetle at the Lucketts Store recently. I am one to always enjoy some vintage, rust, with a twist of uniqueness.

Thank you so much for sharing your memory. That sounds like an awesome time and I’m happy to have invoked those past times for you. Thanks for visiting me. And yes, I agree, it needs to be a print. Happy holidays to you, wherever you are. ?????

I shot this photo at a wonderful antiques shop in Lucketts, Virginia. They are called The Old Lucketts Store. Look them up on social media.Time
This was late morning.Lighting
I captured this outside with only natural daylight, under an overcast sky.Equipment
I used my Canon 5DMkiv with 24-70mm lens, handheld.Inspiration
I just love the juxtaposition of the rusted, decaying Beetle with the lively plants thriving inside of it. The display was set up to sell plants -- ferns, succulents, etc. But I saw a bit more, as you see. Really, I enjoy taking photos of many items in a decaying state whether they are vehicles, buildings, everyday objects, etc. This particular moment I just had a great opportunity for what I thought would be an authentic photo.Editing
I did add some saturation and contrast in Lightroom, along with a bit of matte effect. I wanted a solemn, slightly lonely feel. Hopefully I got that.In my camera bag
Canon 5Dmkiv, Canon 6Dmkii, 50mm prime lens, 24-70mm lens, 35mm lens, two 580ex flashes, lots of memory cards...Feedback
At times, the best photos are just ones you happen upon, like in this case. Your scene doesn't have to be elaborate or very involved at all. It just has to mean something to you from the start. Your photo, with your heart in it, will convey the rest.
