The photo was taken in studio during a shooting for a young couple. The original shot is a real portrait of the woman but I cropped out the face in order to let me publish the photo on the web.Time
In this very case time of the day is irrilevant... the photo was taken in studio.Lighting
I just used a flash light with a medium size softbox on the left of the womanEquipment
This is a very old shot for me... at that time I was still studying photography and I just had my Canon EOS 550D, an entry level camera yeah, but it worked fine. Lens was my beloved Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 IS L. As for the light I remember I used a couple of studio flash lights with remote control.Inspiration
This photo was part of a larger shooting session for a young couple, but I made some portraits a part to the woman too.Editing
The original shooting was meant to be released in black and white and so I did, but in 2020 I decided to re-edit this very shot because I always liked so much. I put colors back, and slightly gave a teal and orange effect, I mean not a real T&O effect but something close to it. I just wanted a few colors. The skin has been slightly softened using a negative clarity brush and I removed stains and dots too, but preserved a natural likeness anyway. I used Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. In my camera bag
Today I'm a professional photographer, so equipment depends on what I'm shooting for, I mean, it may be for fun o for job. As for job I usually have with me Canon EOS 6D and 5D mkIV, Canon EF 24-70 F/2.8, 50mm F/1.4, 28mm F/2.8 + flash, tripod, and other lenses I rarely use. As for fun I carry with me something lighter as like Canon EOS 550D with 18-200mm, Canon EOS 6D with 50mm 1.8 or 28mm 2.8.Feedback
mhmm when you're portraying people... look at them a lot, talk with them and try to understand what are their feelings about life and what they want to show with their bodies. Remember you are not shooting a movie or any fictional scene, use your art, knowledge and skills to fulfill their wishes not your ego. Your ego is only good in case of fictional scenes.
