Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken in Benbrook, Texas. The field was right by Benbrook Lake. The park is beautiful and every season brings about a new scenery. One of my favorite locations for family pictures in general.Time
This photo was taken in the beginning of November. Right before the time the sun started to set.Lighting
We were losing light pretty fast and the baby was getting tired. It was the perfect mixture of overcast and low light.Equipment
NIKON D750 Nikon was used to take this shot. If I remember correctly I was using the Tamron 18-200mm lens.Inspiration
One of my best friends finally decided to start her little family after not being sure which journey she wanted to go on with her husband. After her beautiful baby was born she became a homebody and we lost touch a little. I received a random text with her asking me if I would take their first family pictures for their Christmas card. I was honored and excited since I hadn't met the baby yet. He was so sweet and had an old soul.Editing
I made a little bit of color correction in Photoshop as well as well as messing with the overall brightness and contrast of the overall image. Nothing too drastic. In my camera bag
I do not normally carry a bag. Usually just the camera and my favorite lens of the moment.Feedback
I try to pay attention to the personalities of the people I am shooting. I also try not to give them much direction when shooting. Sometimes people feel awkward with the lack of posing I do, but I fill the space with random conversations and jokes and shoot and get my best moments in out interactions and the random interactions they are having with each other. I try not to set up the shot too much and just follow the vibe.
