Excellent capture, love the glistening of the sunset on the water in the foreground, and the silhouette of the well composed subjects of this image! Awarded Top Choice and favorite!

Late afternoon around the "golden hour" in October!! Yes winter, a freak weather change saw the temperature hitting 25c so we headed for the beach....Lighting
The light was perfect and worth waiting for!Equipment
Canon 5D mk2, 24-105 L series lens . Handheld shooting no tripodInspiration
The light as you can see was perfect! We just so happened to be visiting a friend who owns a nearby bar and he informed me in around an hours time that the tide goes out and the best view is from the other side of the pier looking back towards the sun..... He wasn't wrong, As I was snapping a way, by chance one man and his dog..... (And his bike) came in to shot to shoot the sunset too. He didn't notice me, a little distance behind him but he made a great subject for the photo and a string of others.Editing
Very little as it happens maybe a bit of a sharpen and tidying of a few bits here and there that caught my eye, but the sky was pretty much as its shot.In my camera bag
From then I now run a photography business so I now have a 5D3 70-200L F2.8ISii, 50mm Prime, a 100mm f2.8macroL and a 17-35L . As well as a 580exii flash. But other bits I carry include tape, pegs, string, plastic sealable bags, marker pens & other random stuff which may come in useful mainly when shooting portraits or weddings.Feedback
Visiting somewhere for the day?.... Speak to the locals! Especially those who live close by or work around where you are shooting. The wife and I were ready to leave pretty much but if I had I wouldn't of capture this photo and an array of others. This one in particular I have as a 20x30 canvas on the wall in the kitchen!
