The foam complements and enlivens the beauty of the background. Just lovely!

Location
Right outside the jetty of the Dana Point harbor in southern California.Time
This was late afternoon after a rain storm blew through.Lighting
There were rain clouds over the water still drizzling a little and blue sky in between making for great light. I used a high f-stop to get the background clear.Equipment
I used a Nikon D750 and Nikon 50mm prime.Inspiration
I was teaching my wife about photography and I noticed she was standing straight up taking every shot and I said to take different angles and levels to get a different composition. I walked to the water line to take a photo for an example. Snapped it and starting walking back saying check this one out from a low an.......................gle...............and realized I got a pretty good shot! Sometimes it just happens. I was expecting to erase every shot I took on this lesson because I had been to this spot many times.Editing
Yes just Lightroom and for this shot not much just a little brush on the splash to take out some shadows and slightly up the exposure and a white balance adjustment to get the blues to pop. Other small adjustments to get it as close to what I saw while there. In my camera bag
Nikon D750, Nikon 14-24mm f2.8, Nikon 50mm f1.4, Sigma 12-400mm f5.6, twop remote realeses, extra batteries and memory cards, Wonderpana filter system, assorted other filters like a polarizer, 10 stop ND, cleaning kit, granola bars and candy and a soda of some type, MePhoto tripod and all in a Lowepro bag.Feedback
Just timing and angles. Use a fast shutter speed 1000 or higher and a high f-stop to get clarity in the background and foreground. You may have to use a higher ISO to get that shutter and f-stop so make sure your camera can handle that without noise but if the settings are right you should be fine. Have fun!
