My first comment on ViewBug. I have a Boarder Collie and a Kelpie as two separate dogs and can just imagine how good yours will be. Our Boarder Collie who has never seen a sheep spends a large part of her day rounding up our six chickens

Location
Panama City Beach, FloridaTime
Late afternoon/eveningLighting
It was overcast which gave more even tones and detail.Equipment
Normally i shoot with my Canon dslr but this was actually taken with my smartphone.Inspiration
This was a wonderful day for me. It was the first time my then puppy saw the beach. As you can tell it she was feeling right at home so i had to take a shot!Editing
The horizon was slightly off so i corrected that (very important for landscape, especially beach scenes). I brought down the white tones a bit for better detail, i removed a little seaweed clump that was distracting and I bumped up the clarity, color, and contrast just enough to look like it did to my naked eye.In my camera bag
Canon 7D, Sigma 70-300 telephoto macro lens, Canon 18-55mm wide angle lens, Tamron lens 70-300mm. and a couple other lenses. Tripod. Canon external flash. several flash cards and batteries. Also a cloth to wipe my lenses of any smudges or dust.Feedback
With any beach scenes make sure you keep your horizon straight as possible (as with any landscapes). The great light quality was essential for my phone camera to get a great shot so that was in my favor. I loved how it turned out and smart phone picture or not, its one of my most popular photos. So it's further proof that its not about the equipment you use but the moment you capture! No matter what equipment you have or don't have on you, be open to capture a great moment and don't forget the most important element of a camera is the person behind it! ;-)
