Behind The Lens

Location

This amazing place was found up an old logging road off of the Squamish River in BC. Canada. We we lucky enough to have been camping in the area and following a path through the wood we came upon this wonderful oasis.

Time

This is just around noon. The sun was out in full force and it was quite hot on the valley floor but back here it was blissfully cool and refreshing.

Lighting

The lighting in this photo was another blessing.. it was created for me by mother nature herself to highlight such a perfect spot.

Taken with my Sony DSH-H1 , handheld

Inspiration

My inspiration in this photo is the beauty of the space that very few may ever see. I wanted to bring it to the eyes of everyone so they could feel its beauty too.

Editing

This photo had to have very little done to it for post processing. I think I may have just brightened it a bit as I was taking the shot from the darkness of the woods out to the very bright water.

In my camera bag

My normal equipment is light and easy to get to anywhere with ... just my DSLR camera, a tough bag to protect it and a good pair of walking shoes.

Feedback

My best advise for capturing a photo like this one it to just get our there .. great shots more often than not come to those who look for them. Don't be afraid to walk down some obscure path, it may just lead you to the shot of a lifetime.
