Location
This is the top of a mountain 30 minutes away from home by car. It's one of the best spots for night photography, with very few light pollution, although that night those low altitude clouds made it harder to get some decent shots. That day a friend invited me to go with him and two other people to try some milky way photography. Definitely a great moment when I met some great photographers and learned and shared a lot about photography.Time
Not hard to guess... hehe!! We were out there from 00:00 to 4:00 in the morning.Lighting
I realized the lights from inside the car could make an interesting foreground element to enhance the whole frame.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D600 and the Nikkor 20mm f/1.8 mounted on a Manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
While taking some stars photos, I realized about the tripod in the foreground, the guy taking a photograph and the open trunk of the car with lights on ( if you see carefully you will notice a silhouette of a person inside). Everything and the cloudy sky did a fantastic photo to me.Editing
I recovered information from the darkest areas and adjusted the white balance. In my camera bag
Right now, I own a D750 apart from the D600, a 24-70mm f2.8, a 20mm f/1.8, a 90mm f/2.8 and also a 85mm and a 50mm. Apart from that I have a CPL filter, a 10 stops ND and a 3 stops GND.Feedback
A spot away from the lights of the cities is crucial, just like using a tripod. But the most important thing is to enjoy the moment, to learn and share and to witness a beautiful starry sky.
