Location
I went back to my home country Philippines during my annual vacation, and part of my itinerary is to visit Avilon zoo which is 31 kilometers away from Manila, the our country's capital.Time
It was past 4:00pm, this was at the last phase of the visit in the Zoo where these wildlife are situated. I have noticed this black panther lying on the log and probably a bit exhausted that is why he did not even move when he saw me pointing my camera at him.Lighting
I depend on the ambient light, the good thing is he is placed where there are trees and leaves that can lessen the harsh light and the fact that at this hour the light is starting to subdue.Equipment
This was shot with Canon 5D Mark 2 with Canon 70-200mm 2.8mm. Handheld and no other equipment used.Inspiration
I love capturing wildlife and animals and at that moment, seeing this creature in this mood melts my heart that is why I captured it the closest I could, giving the focus on its expression.Editing
I usually do a simple post-processing by adjusting contrast and a bit of saturation then convert this to Black and White via Photoshop. In my camera bag
I always have Canon 5D Mark2 in my bag which is a very reliable companion for more than seven years now. For the lenses, Canon EF24-70mm 2.8, Canon EF70-200mm 2.8 v2, Canon EF100mm 2.8 and my latest Canon EF85mm 1.2 v2 and with my speed light Canon 600ex rt in case ambient light or natural light is not good enough to take a shot.Feedback
Patience is a virtue, if at first you did not get it, never give up. Make sure that you have ample time to spend in taking photos because waiting for the right timing will definite consume your time.
