This photo was taken in my own backyard in Western Pennsylvania. I have a flower garden on about an acre. This spot provides year-round opportunity color and texture.Time
First thing in the morning after a heavy frost had blanketed the fall leaves throughout the yard. The leaves created the nice amber hue in the background and accentuated the leave quite nicely. Leaving footprints in the crisp leaves it was a perfect morning.Lighting
First light of the morning casts such a nice glow on objects it is by far my favorite time to experiment with nature. While the frost quickly melts, changing the shots rapidly, it still offers a lovely window for unique textures and light.Equipment
Before purchasing my Nikon D750 I relied heavily upon the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ70 for a wide range of shots. I would love the opportunity to shoot this same morning again with my Tamron macro lens just to compare the two.Inspiration
The soft morning light offered such an opportunity for the amber and gold background to wrap this leaf in a blanket of hues. It was an irresistible morning with the foliage and I had captured several images before the frost gave way to moisture on the leaves.Editing
Generally, with the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ70, I enhance the clarity a bit as the fantastic zoom on this camera can compromise the clarity at times. Otherwise, it is as captured. In my camera bag
Nikon D750 with a Nikon 24-120 lens. My favorite new addition to the bag the Tamron 150-600 and always the macro lens.Feedback
With few natural wonders locally, I never miss the opportunity to shoot what is right in front of me. The everyday objects or items in nature that we take for granted each day can provide some fantastic shots. Watch for the light to dance on the subject and shoot!
