Great Shot!! The feeling of emptiness is there. Great focus and point of view in the image. Thank you for joining my challenge and congrats!! 😊

Eelco, My apologies but I have to remove this wonderful shot from my “freshwater oceans” challenge. The challenge calls for large, freshwater bodies of water and your tags for this shot include “ocean” and “sea”. As this shot could ultimately win, in my opinion, that wouldn’t be fair. Again, my sincerest apology.

Location
This photo was taken at the IJsselmeer near Enkhuizen, my home town. The IJsselmeer is the biggest natural lake in Europe.Time
I took this photo about 1 PM.Lighting
It was a wonderful typical Dutch day, nice slightly covered sunlight at the waterside.Equipment
I didn't use any equipment other then my wonderful little Lumix DMC-TZ100.Inspiration
I take part in a photogroup in which we give eatch other assignments. The topic of this photo was: The chair out of it's comfort zone.I wanted to show the lonely feeling of witing for somebody to come back into your life while knowing it will not happen... Like the 17th century woman waiting for their sailor husbands and sons who died at sea.Editing
I did a little post-processing in Lightroom to create a bit more liveliness and contrast in the image. In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand...Feedback
Water creates nice reflections and lively motion to support the lonely chair scene. I placed the horizon as low as possible to make the chair stand out against the sky. I placed the chair at a third facing out of the picture to emphasise the view into the unknown. If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one, once you got home and opened your laptop, the magic of today's world begins... I allways crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!day when you can have a fresh look at them!
