Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo while on vacation in Maldives. I saw it near the resort spa and just HAD to take a picture of it.

Time

I had just left lunch and was waiting for my afternoon massage when I saw this water lily. It was so peaceful that I wanted to keep the memory.

Lighting

I wanted people to experience the relaxation I felt, but also enjoy the vibrant colors. I felt like the black and white background really made the subject pop. To me it really invokes happiness and relaxation.

Equipment

Just my iPhone!

Inspiration

I really wanted it’s beauty to be eternal…that’s why I take all my photos. I like to preserve the moments and my view of the subject to share with people.

Editing

Since this was originally a full color image, I turned the background black and white while also enhancing the vibrancy and saturation of the subject. I wanted people to see the color the way I see it.

In my camera bag

Just my iPhone, my eyes, and a whole lot of free time!
