A very big thank you to everyone who liked and awarded this photograph. You are all very encouraging, at the age of 77 next week, I have never had a hobby throughout my life, and only took it up 6 months ago. So, once again a big thank you, and God bless you all.

sun goes down, sun goes up, life has run on around, child — grows, smiles and laughter and plans filled the sense, every moment of life — real treasure. But this you will just understand when your road will be passed. Poetic photo, i even try to write a poem. Sorry for my bad english.

This is my wonderful Cracker at a dog friendly pub.

Spring is here, with the colours coming back on the trees.

Took this one indoors. He is a Cavalier King Charles, black and tan, and his name is "Cracker"

The sun was shining while the storm clouds gathered.

Cracker is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. We had just arrived home from a 7 mile walk, when I took this.

I took this on our dog walk along the river.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo while on holiday at Funchal, Madeira. Our hotel had a nice balcony looking out over the sea. The cruise liners are moored in the left hand bottom corner of the photo.

Time

The time was around 7.00 am.

Lighting

I waited for around 20-30 minutes, constantly looking through my viewfinder, until I felt that the light was good enough. I was pleasantly surprised with the atmospheric element of this photo.

Equipment

I used my Olympus OM 10 mark 111, without a tripod, but fortunately able to keep things steady on the balcony wall.

Inspiration

I like sunrises and sunsets, and felt that this sunrise was a little different from others I had seen.

Editing

I only have simple processing equipment, not expensive, so the post processing was very minimal, slight change in light balance, shadow, etc.

In my camera bag

I usually just carry my camera and lenses, along with a cleaning cloth.

Feedback

My advice for anyone trying to capture a sunrise or sunset shot, would be to be patient, take several shots, because the sun moves fast. Take several shots, and by the time the sun is up, or gone down, you will probably be delighted that you have got at least one excellent shot.
