This photo was taken at sunrise in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on Lake Michigan.Time
In order to get sunrise photos, after moving to the mid-west and onto the shores of Lake Michigan, I spent a considerable amount of time, getting up early for to see the lighting conditions available in each season. This particular photo was taken in early summer, with sunrise around 5:40am.Lighting
All natural light, taking advantage of the few minutes before and after sunrise. The beach at Northpoint has a nice curvature that draws you towards the rising sun.Equipment
Nikon D3200 with Aperture of F/6.3, ISO 100, Shutter 10/1600 and focal length of 23/10.Inspiration
Two currents in my life are water and mountains. I have lived in the Canadian Rockies and now on the Great Lakes. I love the few minutes before and after Sun rises and setting. A lot of my landscapes and monument photos are taken early morning, so that there are not throngs of tourists in the photo. It allows the monument or scene to stand on it's own merits.Editing
I am a little bit of a purest, very rarely do any post-processing.In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon D3200 and carry my Nikkor 55-300mm, 18-55mm and 10-24mm.Feedback
Whenever I visit or live somewhere, I try to capture the same subject matter in all seasons and at various times of the day, especially early morning and early evening. Having clouds in the photo gave me more colors and some good concentrated light. The sunrise without clouds, really is too bright and gives less contrast.
