Isn’t it peculiar how we spend life passing by places as we travel to familiar destinations we visit time and time again? Then once we visit a new place, we often find ourselves with repeated visits. This year closer to home, that has happened. I’ve only ever passed this lake throughout my life and have never actually visited it.
Then this winter, I’ve been out there six times in the last couple months searching different parts of the lake in search for these illusive ice sheets. Even now bringing my family out there for some fun.
One of the reasons for so many visits is because of not having the desired conditions, or going to different parts where the ice hadn’t built up enough and the time it takes to explore different areas. Well, finally, the desired conditions matched up with a return visit. What a great feeling of excitement as the sky turned and scattered color across the frozen lake.
